ABOUT THE COURSE

Based on latest Crisis Management standard ISO 22361:2022, this course comprises 2 parts:

A. Introduction to Crisis Management, various types of Crisis, and Crisis Management strategies

B. Building a Crisis Management plan

The objective of the course is to enable participants to get a good understanding of Crisis Management not by just talking about it, but by living it. Multiple case studies simulate real-life experience. Participants in this interactive course react to crisis situations as they unfold, experience first-hand the challenges of appropriate response and gain an appreciation of the critical need for proactive planning, exercising and maintenance. Participants are given an overview of the various types of Crisis Management tools and the strategies for managing crisis. This fast-paced course is conducted in interactive manner to which participants will need to respond. Other training methodologies include classroom training and individual/group exercises, videos and group discussions.

This course entitles you to 24 CPE credits.

ABOUT THE FACILITATOR

Rohit Verma

Rohit has over 25 years’ experience in designing, implementing and auditing enterprise-wide Business Continuity Management Frameworks, aligned to industry Standards.

During his 18+ years in client-facing roles at EY, KPMG, and IBM, Rohit had the privilege of working with global enterprises, gaining exposure to world-class practices in Governance, Risk and Compliance in Business Continuity Management, IT Disaster Recovery, Enterprise Risk Management, Third Party Risk Management, Cyber Resilience, Operations Risk Management, Health and Safety

He has held Management level positions as General Manager, IBM – in Global Business Continuity Management role; as Country Head – Business Continuity Management in Deutsche Bank – South East Asia and as Country Head – Business Continuity Management in Barclays Bank. He provided strategic direction for BCM, IT DR and Third Party Risk Management Programs for Deutsche Bank, Barclays Bank and for Clients of KPMG, EY and IBM.

He has conducted over 100 Crisis Simulation Exercises, over 500 Live IT Disaster Recovery Drills, over 800 BCM Drills across 3 Countries. He has carried out Third Party Risk Reviews of more than 200 High Risk Vendors. He has designed, implemented and exercised over 1100 WAR seats in 3 Countries.

Rohit has published a Research Paper on Disaster Management Framework in India for Business Continuity Institute, UK. Rohit has also authored ‘Emergency Awareness Handbook’ covering actions to prevent / recover from crisis events.

Rohit was a Jury member in first ever Business Continuity Institute (UK) and Deloitte BCM Awards, India, 2009. He was Ex-Honorary Member of BCI India “Think Tank 2020” – a core Group of 20 BCM Professionals in India, set up by BCI UK to do BCM Research and develop future defining BCM practices in India. He is a Visiting Faculty on IT subjects, with Sydenham Institute of Management Studies and other colleges.

Rohit is regularly invited to speak in various Industry Forums on subjects of Business Continuity Management and Risk Management.
